Energy Efficiency

Energy efficiency measures offer the quickest and most cost-effective opportunities to reduce utility bills and carbon emissions. The Data Collection & Analysis gives our engineering team the basis to confidently quantify energy savings from a range of possible measures.

Typical energy efficiency measures include:

• Scheduling of major equipment
• Optimizing HVAC cooling and heating loops
• Installing Economizers, VFD’s, and other low cost, high energy savings equipment
• Improved use and sizing of pumps and fans

Less Energy, Same Building Service:
The proposed measures provide the same level of service and more fresh air. We create savings that last by ensuring building occupant comfort comes first.

Onsite Generation

Onsite generation, such as Solar Photovoltaic systems, offers opportunities to reduce grid utility bills and corresponding carbon emissions. Carbon Lighthouse:

• Manages the entire project, from scoping through commissioning
• Provides engineering oversight to ensure maximum system value
• Guides customers through complicated incentive structures

While we primarily focus on PV systems, Carbon Lighthouse continues to analyze other distributed sources, such as small wind and fuel cells.

Carbon Allowance Retirement

Even after implementing profitable efficiency measures and on-site renewable generation, most building and facilities still have associated carbon emissions.

Through the Carbon Lighthouse Association, we compete with power plants for carbon pollution permits in government-regulated cap & trade markets in the Northeast and California. We purchase and retire carbon allowances on behalf of your building, forcing power plants to emit fewer carbon emissions and effectively eliminating emissions.

The finished result is a delivered set of projects and effectively carbon neutral building with an attractive financial return for the building
