Carbon Lighthouse’s project at 430 North Mary required $0 in upfront costs and delivered lifetime savings of $209,000 ($1.87 per sq ft). The project will eliminate 571 tons of carbon emissions annually making the building 100% Carbon Neutral.
The Nuts & Bolts: Our Process
Carbon Lighthouse engineers spent multiple days on site learning about the building from the facilities staff and deploying sensors and controls in mechanical rooms and on rooftops. Data revealed opportunities in the airside systems for supply air temperature resets for both decks, repairing and modifying integrated economizers, adding lockout functionality to fans, and reducing the duct static pressure.
After implementation, during this first Measurement and Verification period, Carbon Lighthouse discovered not all of the proposed energy measures had been fully implemented, which would have resulted in reduced savings. As a result, the Carbon Lighthouse team worked closely with the contractor to fully implement the measures and conducted two more data collection periods to verify energy savings. Our team is committed to ensuring that the proposed savings are realized and do not deem projects complete until this is true.
